How to use the NHS App safely
The NHS App lets you order repeat prescriptions, see appointments, and view health information.
- Download it only from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) — search “NHS App”, made by the NHS.
- Setting it up asks you to prove who you are. It’s fine to do this step with someone you trust beside you.
- Once set up, the app opens with your fingerprint, face, or a code.
- Common uses: order a repeat prescription, check appointments, view your GP record.
- The NHS will never text or email asking for your bank details. Ignore any message that does.
- If the app confuses you, your GP surgery’s reception can still do everything the old way — the app is a convenience, not a requirement.
Take it one screen at a time. You cannot break anything by looking.
